Modern homes are in increasing demand by the growing middle class in South East Asia and the Middle East. Building residential high-rises and housing blocks fast and efficiently without compromising quality or safety is a major challenge to local contractors in many Asian countries. The solution to the challenge is fast tracking the partition walls inside the buildings. MEVA’s crane-independent wall formwork system AluFix is extensively used for fast tracking because the panels can be carried manually and are ideally geared to the heights of partition walls.
Fast-tracking partition walls eases the building process
How does fast-tracking work? First, the structural walls of a floor are erected, but no partition walls. Then, large panel areas of slab formwork are set up. This is done much faster than usually because there are no hindering inside walls. After pouring the slab and stripping the slab formwork, the partition walls on that floor are poured.
Sizes to fit any wall size
With four panels heights from 132 to 300 cm and over 10 widths from 20 to 75 cm per height, AluFix easily handles typical room heights and partition walls of any size and form. If the walls differ in height and width from standard sizes or from each other, the panels can be combined vertically and horizontally to reduce the panel selection to be held on stock on site. Standard fillers are available to bridge gaps. As the formwork for the partition walls extends to or almost to the poured slab, the concrete is poured through holes in the slab. If this is not possible, e.g. under RC beams, panels with filling nozzles are used for concrete pouring.
The most efficient method with the best concrete surface
Subsequent partition walls can also be erected using hollow bricks, Spraycrete or Macro panels (prefabricated concrete hollow panels). Yet by using AluFix, contractors save efforts, time and costs for different reasons: no material (hollow bricks or Macro panels) needs to be transported, the concrete finish achieved with AluFix is much better than with hollow bricks and plastering work is minimised.

One of Ontario’s busiest transportation corridors, Highway 400, began a major expansion project through Kings Township in late 2016. This $79.3 million dollar (CAD) project includes the widening of the highway from three to six lanes in each direction for a two mile stretch and also entails safer on and off ramps, the expansion and realignment of culverts, and the replacement of two bridges − one of them the South Canal Bridge.
The new theater is called The Otto M. Budig Theater and located in Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine district. When completed, it will become the last section of the planned “Classical Arts Corridor” in Cincinnati, which also includes a Music Hall, School for Creative and Performing Arts, and a park.
